created usb memtest latest version. ran it on windows 7 ...didn't push any keys. ran for 2 minutes and 47 seconds and stopped saying 508 errors. ran again and pressed 1 which is default and it ran for over an hour with no errors. haven't used it before and don't know what to think

You do not run memtest within windows, You boot directly from the USB key you created.
