Wasn't Duke Nukem Never the first?
But honestly, I'd be happy to see games using older engines like the ut2 engine. Why? Because, fps gaming seems like it's just gone downhill since the days of the games like Quake 3, RTCW, UT 2k3+4, etc.
These "next generation" games just seem kind of sketchy to be honest with you. Sure Doom 3 and HL 2 were fun but, at the same time, they sort of aren't. I can't explain it, but the games just seem more about showing off 1337 graphics now than about fun gameplay

I kinda get the same feeling TBH. But I think that maybe it's just because the video cards and tech haven't caught up enough to make a really fast-paced game with tons of enemies on the Doom3 engine yet. It seems like they're really limited as far as what they can do with it, and still have it run on people's PCs.eepberries wrote:Wasn't Duke Nukem Never the first?

HL2 was amazing. Please don't tell me you think that RTCW doesn't pale in comparison standing next to HL2.eepberries wrote:Wasn't Duke Nukem Never the first?

I hear what you're saying about this fixation on graphics, and I totally believe that Doom3 sucked GIGANTIC BUFFALO COCK but HL2 blows away your theory slightly, since its gameplay was amazing thanks in part to great level/story design and also the interactivity with the environment as symbolised by and made possible with the gravity gun.eepberries wrote:These "next generation" games just seem kind of sketchy to be honest with you.
