Minivan or SUV?

Post by Giraffe }{unter »

My Crosstour lease is up and I want to suck it up for 3 years with a below $400.00 lease while my kids are in ludicrous $$ daycare. I'm still not willing to take the step in the minivan direction, but for the cost it's got more features per $

I've narrowed my choices down to the 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L $359/mo and the Oddysey EX-L $319/mo these are pre negotiation prices and both with no money down. I'm going to take them both for a drive later this week.

I need the extra row to accommodate friends and family when we go on trips as well as the extra storage for my projects. Both vehicles have comfortable seating for 8 passengers, ample storage with all seats up and can fit full 4 x 8 sheets of plywood/drywall.

So it comes down to can I be convinced to drive a minivan....

I get bored with cars so I lease for 3 years I like the ability to swap out a car before having to start replacing things.

Touring is nice on both (nicer on the oddysey) but an unnecessary added expense, I use the Navigation on my phone and we have iPads to entertain the kids. If the dealer can drop it down to below $400 I would go for it though.

My cash is tied up in Daycare for 2, swimming, dance, yoga, and other activities for my older one and next year my youngest will start the same regimen of activities.

Leasing is the clear option if you want to change vehicles often.

Do NOT get a van without rear entertainment. I don't care how many iPads you have. You will regret it.

That sounds a great.

At first I figured it was only a DVD entertainments system, which is useless to me since we just donated all of our DVDs, but now I am reading there are HDMI ports that feed the TV from the seats so the ipads or other media players can provide the content...

I'll need to see if we can get the price down...
