Well erm, thanks all. :) Mind you, after hearing coogan and brydon again (I watched the trip when it was on TV, superb) that's just a whole other level of impersonation, they absolutely nail it!

Your hatred for Steve Coogan for various reasons aside.
His rendition is spot on, because he doesn't exaggerate, and doesn't make it a caricature, like Rob Brydon does.

My two cents. I think they both do it equally brilliantly. I wouldn't say Brydon's is a caricature at all. Brydon does the young Caine very accurately, and Coogan arguably does the older Caine slightly better, at least, the bit where his voice gets softer and emotional at the end.
