Hhmm ok nice one puff thx

Is your real life crazy loco and your dream content lame? Because that would make the difference much less noticable kinda .

Also maybe i should be more precise , my real life is relitivly banal (by my constructed design) and my crazy side dream are way way way over the top crazy!!

So the difference is very pronounced ey

plained, are you from New Zealand perchance? Just that you end a lot of comments in "ey".

Not picking on the Kiwis as I figure it is near common knowledge :sly:

Just go soldier, freefall or starfish.
Never mind all the position interpretation bullshit. That's just old, unfucked women needing to ascribe meaning to whatever.

I remember waking up one morning and found that I had spun a full 180-degrees. I felt well rested and may have dreamed of helicopter rides.

Unfortunately, I don't remember dreams often. I really want to start keeping a journal of the dreams I can actually remember. They say that can help to recall dreams more easily. I'd also like to have more lucid dreams. I've only ever had a couple. But they were amazing...

lol Jules probably only thinks he achieved it one night in his crack-tent while huffing a near-lethal bowl of peyote and man paste.

A typical Wednesday for him.

I read somewhere a good way to induce lucid dreaming is to constantly test yourself throughout the day to see if you're dreaming. Even when you're 100% sure you're not dreaming, you need to ask yourself and test yourself by trying something that can only be done in dreams, ie flying. If you constantly do this throughout your day, you'll eventually start doing it in your dreams, and that's when you'll realize you're dreaming. But then of course, you'll have to actually be able to remember the dream to enjoy it. Which is where the journal comes in. Keeping a journal of dreams helps to teach your brain to recall dreams more easily...

Yeah that's a good idea! Jump off the roof of a building multiple times a day to see if you're dreaming :smirk:

they say that you have to have an idea in your head while trying to sleep. You have to start simple, just keep thinking of a simple room...no doors windows furniture etc. Just keep thinking about that and it might stick. then, when you're in there test the waters by trying to imagine a door, window etc.

I never tried , but I do figure out that I'm dreaming pretty often. It's the only reason why I even looked the subject up. The problem with it is, as soon as you realize it you wake up within seconds. And I don't think there is a way around that since it prolly activates a very conscious part of your brain.

you don't really realise you're dreaming at all. it's more that you *think* you realise it's a dream

explain? I realize it in a sense that I become aware that I just caught my mind fabricating a plot hole ridden situation. It is these very "plot holes" that tip me off that I must be dreaming. When that happens I immediately try to take advantage of the situation by trying to stay "in character" while testing the waters by doing the most ridiculous things I can think of at the time...but as soon as that thought comes to mind, within 3-4 seconds I come to. And it's not just like, opening my eyes..it feels like there is a transition of some kind.

Who knows, maybe it's my own version of actually waking up....however it's not like " oh I was sleeping, and i can very vividly remember the last few seconds of a dream" It's more like "oh shit I'm dreaming, LUL brain you cheeky bastard" and then I wake up soon after. So maybe my brain kinda jumps the gun, activates whatever conscious faculty, before it's actually done with the REM cycle. It's very weird in a sense, to even have the ability to question what my eyes see at the time, and totally call "bullshit" on it. So maybe the very fact that I am cognitive while dreaming could very well mean that I'm in the middle of waking up.

well next time it happens try to think of somewhere in the 'real world', like your bedroom, or office, or a person you know IRL. or even better, try to replay in your dreaming mind something that happen IRL. it's interesting that often when the issue of lucid dreaming comes up, people talk about flying or some other physically impossible thing. no one ever says "i realised i was dreaming, then remembered i'd (IRL) lost the car keys down the back of the sofa" or something mundane

my point is, that a true realisation of your dreaming state would be a bit like being Neo in the Matrix: you can do all this cool stuff, but you can also clearly recall the most banal details of the real world, like that patch of rust on the wall of Zion that looks exactly like an outline map of Belgium etc

Aye, I only ever had it happen once years ago, I was dreaming I was in counterstrike 1.5 :dork:, but I was a character model in the gameworld being played (err, Freud ?). I got shot in the face and I remember thinking to myself 'ah fuck it, it's just a dream', I remember the instant I thought that - EVERYTHING changed, like in matrix lol, I looked down and could move my arms and legs when I respawned in the computer graphics still, no model restrictions, I could hop, skip, dance, moonwalk whilst playing De Dust 2.

You know where the aisles of gun racks warp up both sides of NEO and Moprheus ?, that's exactly how I remember it after a few seconds, downtown CG baghdad warped out of view and then my bedroom, with me playing counterstrike in it warped back into view - sat at my computer desk, still trying to figure out wtf is going on I look at my bed to see me sleeping in it, think at this point I was shit up enough to wake up where, I sat there for a good hour or so wondering wtf just happened and wether it really did or not.

Never had it happen before or since, was epic fun and it's pretty nuts how much I remember cos I always have problems remembering dreams, am I the only one that likes Nightmares too ?, anyone ever had Freddy Kreugar come for them in their sleep ?.... it's waaaay better than any film
