Animation-ish is probably your best bet.

If it's for fun... go with what GFY said but if they're older kids and interested in actually animating something I'd recommend books, specifically George Bridgeman books. Really excellent techniques that'll serve them down the road.

thanks GFY i'm going to give the trail a go
my lady has been doing animations on all the paper pads and some books :lol: for quite a while now and latly she is into using ms paint so i figured hey i'll try and get 1 step ahead of her.
she used pencil abit today but i think this other one may be better at what she seems to want to do

If you're serious about animating I'd recommend actual animation courses with a teacher over books any day. As someone who used to be professional animator, the difference is night and day: too many people think they can read a few tutorials and become good animators. I don't think that's ever happened. Just like there aren't any good "self-taught" plastic surgeons.
