I was gonna post this earlier but got distracted. I've been following Pacific Rim (shit title) quite closely up to now, originally I dismissed it outright but when I saw Guillermo del Toro was the driving force I became interested but I am now disappoint. I hope the trailer is just bad.. it's made it look like a Transformers knockoff. I thought the Jaegers were going to be much much bigger. I like how they control them tho and I also like the 'aliens'.

Seen these?

Yea, it is interesting they had him talk like Jax instead of his real voice.

The Charlie Hunnam factor alone makes it worth seeing. It looks entertaining, and let's face it, anyone that would watch a movie like this for the magnificent acting is a slack-jawed dolt.

Yeah, I'll gladly shut my brain off and watch this in the theaters.

...also, more of the obligatory Inception-style droning sound effect in every single action movie trailer. Does Hollywood have some kind of autotune-like software suite where they plug in a bunch of random film clips and have it procedurally stitched together with automatically generated CG clips for a completed movie and trailer?

And in this trailer, the droning sound is exceptionally annoying.

OK I am all over this - I have enough faith in del Toro to not balls it up or "Bay it" up for that matter.

Yes. Do like.
