Is that really all you have to say, accepting baby jesus being born 2 centuries ago, and now we have to base everything around that?

Re: 12-12-12
With American notation (MM-DD-YYYY), you're going to get that in 2014 as well:
12-13-14
12-13-14

Why, pray tell do they (yes you perhaps) put the month before the day?
Surely it should be day/month/year
I have never understood that logic, so enlighten me please
Re: 12-12-12
If you're asking, me then you're asking the wrong person. I feel that month/day/year doesn't make any sense either.

Yes. I still wonder where it came fromEraser wrote:If you're asking, me then you're asking the wrong person. I feel that month/day/year doesn't make any sense either.

Not according to this guy.Plan B wrote:I'd rather wait for 01-01-2101.
That's when the real magic happens.

Re: 12-12-12
Do you generally say "March tenth 2012" or "the tenth of March 2012" in conversation? If it's the former then say hello to MM/DD/YYYY. Also, Americans use feet (otherwise known as 0.3246109709 metres) and inches (roughly 1.90546305 cm), as well as Fahrenheit which may as well be based on the sublimation point of CO2 on the planet Saturn at an elevation of 0.6AU cuz the real reasoning makes about as much sense. Americans have fully retarded conventions.
Re: 12-12-12
That being the whole point of this thread, Memphis. Please do keep up.
Re: 12-12-12
I'd buy into the metric system for sure.Plan B wrote:
Fahrenheit allows for more fine tuned readings without resorting to decimal points and each Fahrenheit degree is the smallest change an average person can detect. The majority of the world sits above 0F so there is no reason to bring in negatives until it is really fucking cold either. The only argument I'd make for Celsius is that 0 and 100 are a bit easier to remember than 32 an 212.
I think the US date format makes more sense and the choice seems arbitrary.
I'd still vote to make the US use the same as the rest of the world though.
