Well, I'll likely be there for a few days this August, so I'll get to see for myself.

P.S. Fuck Texas.
A circuit where he had absolute freedom to design the best race circuit evah! Look what happened...

I will outright give you Yas Marina and Istanbul
Shanghia, Sepang...well...good tracks but overtaking wise it is not that great?

I might partially agree with Sepang since it's older, but it's a driver favorite. Shanghai? If you can't pass there you either suck or you're following Jarno Trulli.

Apparently there are rumours that the new US track will not take off as there are already financial difficulties.

So this is in a few days time! After all the back and fore shite, who would have thunk it?!
. I am backing Alonso to have the measure of Vettel on this new circuit because it is exactly that; a new circuit. It is a more level playing field when a new track in introduced and I think Alonso will adapt and is generally a better driver than Vettel, so he should be able to get his car higher in qualy and all the rest of it. It will be interesting to see the practice times tomorrow. The circuit looks incredible, though. They have basically taken quite a lot of famous corners from around the world and slapped them into a track, then added a 130 foot hill that goes into turn 1. Carnage will ensure and it will be fun and games from then on.

Counterpoint: Magny-Cour is shit.
First lap into T1 will be crazy. While I hope Alonso keeps the fight going, with the characteristics of the track I'm afraid of red bull being able to do their pole to a gap by DRS time to boring win.

I prefer the Istanbul track to Magny-Cours, but it doesn't mean Magny-Cours is shit.EtUL wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20614283

Yeah it might not happen. And not the normal "might not" with F1, no one in turkey went to the races so if they can't find funding that won't happen.
Maybe Jersey will pull it together...
