Re: the power of pee!
that is really fucking cool if true
Re: the power of pee!
what would be even cooler is if the Nigerian government invested in a proper electrical power infrastructure that raised the living standards of Nigerians, as such national grids do in advanced economies, so that said Nigerians didn't have to get their electricity from piss like a bunch of 21st century cave dwellers
if anyone thinks differently, please buy one of these and live on it for a month, and tell us how you get on. see how long it takes you to charge your 4G DroidPad nano tablet

typical liberal wanting the government to do everything for you
Re: the power of pee!
lolThis is ridiculous.
Urine is over 95% water. Let us stipulate that it is 100% water.
Now, suppose we separate the water into hydrogen and oxygen using electrolysis. For every liter (kilogram) of water, we would get 111 g of gaseous H2.
Liquid hydrogen has about 1/5 the specific energy of gasoline. Let's ignore the fact that the hydrogen in the girl's machine is not liquid (and, thus, would require energy to compress it). If it were, it would produce the energy of 22 g of gasoline. There are about 2800 grams per gallon of gas. So, the energy output of a liter of urine would be .008 gallons of gas.
.008 gallons of gas would run that (say, 1000W?) generator for about 10 seconds. Even giving the girls a whole lot of benefit of the doubt, this bullshit contraption has zero-point-zero-Blutarsky chance of producing a net of any energy, once the heat loss of the generator, the compressor, and the electrolysis machine are factored in.
That no one on the Giz staff could see the problems in this orders-of-magnitude erroneous claim is even more disturbing. Did anyone even ask the girls to turn the thing on?

It's another Nigerian scam! A whole new meaning to the phrase "taking the piss".

Years ago, locally we had a hydrogen powered car that never go off the ground.
