Re: World War Z
Looks pretty shit to be honest
The book is great though. Still can't believe the author sold the movie rights when the book lends itself perfectly for a series, big mistake there i think. Almost as big a mistake as hiring the director they hired. And what is with the stolen/rehashed images from the Dawn of the Dead remake, such a rich source of material and they still can't think up something original?
I'll still watch it though.
PS fix your vid Xeros you lazy bum

Meh, fast zombies.
Telling passage from Wikipedia too:
Eh, I'll probably still watch it, but I'll view it as a completely different intellectual property.
Telling passage from Wikipedia too:
I don't quite understand that. I thought Pitt had read the book and loved the premise, yet this appears to be substantially different. The screenplay was written by J. Michael Straczynski, with Marc Forster directing, and Pitt starring as the main character, United Nations employee Gerry Lane.[27][28] Despite being the draft that got the film green-lit, Straczynski's script was tossed aside, so that production, which was to begin at the start of 2009, was delayed while the script was completely re-written by Matthew Michael Carnahan to set the movie in the present, leaving behind much of the premise of the book to make it more of an action film.

Re: World War Z
It's a shame that it's turned into a bit of a generic zombie film. The piles of bodies look good and I'll enjoy it but it's a total waste of Brooks' IP. Oh well.

Fast zombies are not zombies IMO. I enjoyed the book but this looks nothing like it.

Slow, lumbering zombies aren't scary at all. They never were. The only time they're scary is in overwhelming hordes, and even then not that scary.
Fast zombies are the shit because, like the slow zombies, their only desire is to eat your face and you'll never outrun something that goes flat out and never gets tired. Besides...IRL fast zombies would be harder, if not impossible, to get headshots on when you're in panic mode.
There is no panic mode with slow zombies....like....ever.

Re: World War Z
As for the trailer it looks insanely retarded, but Brad Pitt rarely works on shit projects, so maybe it'll be better than most people hope.
Re: World War Z
yeah i used to think the presence of harrison ford in a movie meant it was good, but then he did sabrina so that was that hypothesis out the fucking door

Re: World War Z
Or they're just bored. I doubt Harrison Ford or Brad Pitt actually want or need more cash.
Benjamin Button was a wash, so Mr.Pitt's record isn't spotless, but I doubt it'll be as monumentally retarded as the Resident Evil zombie action.

Re: World War Z
That why all the slow zombie movies up until now were terrible, right? The unfeeling, unwavering certainty of a slow zombie approach is scary and works well in film. In real life I'm sure it would be different, and the more zombies there are, the scarier. Once they can run it just becomes a movie about being chased by someone. I will admit, though, that 28 Days Later did it well. Fast zombies make for good video games, too, as we all know.GONNAFISTYA wrote:fuck u...Transient wrote:Fast zombies are not zombies IMO.
