He hit the ramp with way too much speed, sending him too high. he knew he needed to get away from the bike to survive the crash.

That was pretty fucking crazy, you can tell he lost control around mach 1 and regained it shortly after he started decelerating.

I heard him say something about passing out in the live feed as he was falling. I'm guessing things weren't smooth.
