cue the people still living in '99 to post "Q3 > UT!!1 lol". Like it or not his influence in the gaming industry while being at Epic has been substantial.
wonder what will happen with Epic now, they already outsourced the Gears of War IP.

Yup, big news. I wonder what he'll do now. Go the Peter Molyneux way and set up his own independent studio? Or maybe quit the game industry entirely?

I heard that he's going to help Carmack at Armadillo by being the test monkey.

Anyway, I got the impression that Epic wasn't keen on the business of making games so much as making and selling the development tools. I suspect Cliffy didn't have as much to do with the day-to-day operations of the company that he used to.
