Let me ask, does the Holocaust not count as violence towards Jews because Hitler also targeted Gypsys and homosexuals as well, therefore it's not strictly a religious conflict.

Recently NBC News broadcast footage of Army Lt. General William Boykin, a deputy undersecretary of defense, equating our campaigns in the Middle East to a religious war. Among his arguments: that Islam is "a spiritual enemy. He's called the principality of darkness. The enemy is a guy called Satan," out to destroy America "because we're a Christian nation."
For bonus points, Boykin also pegged God (not the Supreme Court) as the deciding factor in the 2000 elections. "Why is this man [President Bush] in the White House?" he said. "The majority of Americans did not vote for him. Why is he there? And I tell you this morning that he's in the White House because God put him there for a time such as this."
http://www.democracynow.org/2009/5/6/th ... n_militaryTherefore the most troubling aspect of the Boykin incident is not his words, but the Bush administration's reaction to his attacks. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called Boykin "an officer that has an outstanding record in the United States Armed Forces." He then defended the Lt. General's statements on free speech grounds, saying, "We're a free people."

Psalm 137:8 O Babylon, you will be destroyed. Happy is the one who pays you back for what you have done to us.Nightshade wrote: "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" Quran 8:12
"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."
And on and on. Yes, I'm sure there are violent verses in the bible as well, but again, I don't see angry christians storming embassies and flying planes into buildings because someone badmouthed Jeebus.
Psalm 137:9 Blessed is the one who grabs your babies and smashes them against a rock.
All religion can suck my dick.

Muslims. The guy who killed Theo Van Gough was British born and Dutch raised. Malaysia, Indonesia, have people going batshit crazy trying to kill Christians/Buddhists for some perceived insult all the time.obsidian wrote:Muslims or people in the Middle East? I said muslim, didn't I? To be clear, I've worked with or gone to school with people from Saudi Arabia, The UAE, Dubai, Qatar, Yemen, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Eritrea, Somalia, and Malaysia. No, I am not using the terms interchangeably.obsidian wrote: Muslims or people in the Middle East? I would disagree with you on the former, but may possibly agree with you on the latter. Bosnia was ethnic (religious) genocide of 200000 people but that somehow doesn't count? seriously NS?[/quote]HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:

Ethnicity, now known as religion. There's a difference.
Hey wow, you found passages from the bible that are violent. Uh, just like I said there were, so I don't know why you posted that.
Thanks for the links, I haven't time to read through all of them yet, but I will. I agree, all religions can suck a dick. They're all cults and they're all full of their share of retards.
From what I seen in skimming your posts, I think you're still not getting my point. Yes, there are crazies in all faiths. But, I still maintain that there is no group out there that is as quick to move to explosive violence over insults (real or perceived) as muslims are.
I'll read your links...

Doesn't count as WHAT? Da fuck are you talking about? How is a systematic genocide in any way related to a group of people going insane over cartoons? What are you not getting about what I'm saying?HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote: Bosnia was ethnic (religious) genocide of 200000 people but that somehow doesn't count? seriously NS?
Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
Lol poor ppl arguments...
Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
I'm growing the opinion that we should either bomb it all or just build a big fucking wall around it and pretend it doesn't exist
If a particular country proves they can behave themselves, by keeping the mental fuckers under control, then we can stick a door in the wall, or not blow them up when we found out we didn't get them all after the 'clensing'

Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
Maybe, but I'm not the one burning down buildings and killing innocent people because a B movie is being released. Nutters need to be contained, so I propose a situation like Escape from New York ?, it'll be epic, trust me

Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
lol...like the country with the most mental fuckers doing the most mass shootings? Never mind a B movie being released, these idiots are usually predictable if anyone bothered to give a shit and yet nobody blinks in that shithole that thinks it's "behaving itself" when some lunatic blows 30 people away with legal guns.losCHUNK wrote:I'm growing the opinion that we should either bomb it all or just build a big fucking wall around it and pretend it doesn't exist

Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
In regards to your question here: I am not saying anything about violence towards religious groups. Your question is ludicrous. My point about Bosnia is not that it wasn't a religious conflict because non-muslims were killed. I never said anything about that, what I meant was that while yes, there were indeed thousands of muslims murdered, most of what happened there was ethnic cleansing.HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srebrenica_massacre

I've read through the links you posted, and I can't see the relevance to what I'm saying. Nowhere have I said that muslims have not been the victims of discrimination or violence because of their faith. That's mostly what your links are showing, along with some rather reprehensible behavior from some American military religious fanatics. So, I reiterate: Muslims are more prone to acts of insane violence over real or imagined slights to their religion. They are the single most violently intolerant religious group on the planet. They aren't the ONLY group that possesses that quality, they're just the worst of the bunch. If you don't believe me, turn on the news and watch for two minutes. Then spend 30 seconds on Google and look up other incidents just like what's happening now. If you need more proof than that, then I don't know what to tell you.
Have a nice night!

Re: No comments on Yemen, Libya, etc.?
Hundreds of Muslims in Australia protest over the film now.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-09-15/a ... ey/4263372
What I want to know is who's responsible for this:
The ABC understands the protest was sparked by a mass text message saying: "We must defend the honour of our prophet, we must act now."

Enjoyed this article from the New Yorker:
The Disappeared How the fatwa changed a writer’s life.
Salman Rushdie thought he wrote a balanced book on the Prophet Mohammed and then.... POW!
These people are barbarians.

I watched part of this movie that's causing all the ruckus...holy dogshit it's stupid. Now I have an ever lower opinion of all the assheads involved in these protests and murders.
