Wireless charging of phones and other gadgets
Intel is having Integrated Device Technology (IDT) build a real-world chipset to support resonance charging in our gadgets. The lofty goal is to have a ready-made platform for charging up a mobile device or peripheral just by keeping it close to another device with a charger built-in, such as an Ultrabook; there's none of the unseemly contact plates used with inductive wireless power.
If they could make the tech cover a wider range (sorta like a wifi hotspot) imagine that just walking around your house or in a shopping mall or other places you`d be constantly charging your phone. The problem of forgetting to charge your phone would be a thing of the past.

Yeah... that's gonna go well with people who think you get cancer for holding a phone to your head...
Hey, step into your new electrical air powered home... I feel like keanu is about to make another futuristic flick on the subject... oh wait.

lol it's funny you'd post that, in my original post I was going to link to Tesla's death (because he suggested power through air) but when I saw the dude died at like 86 years old I decided not to.
despite that, I do wonder what the health effects of devices like this would be in homes.

I'd settle for phone charging built into a mouse pad. Perfect spot to rest your phone if you have a really wide pad.

It would be a great idea concerning the recharging of mobile devices. I sometimes forget my cell phone battery is almost out of power.
