i think what i was really trying to say was: there's been a lot of remakes and reboots recently - way too many

I didn't say The Simpsons copied The Flintstones I said it was inspired by it

There's been 'specials' but I don't think you can call them a reboot, it's also always been pretty common practice to invite the writers and actors to do a 1 off special for a particular event like and it's nothing new. Hooligan Island will technically be a brand new series.
This is all that I can think of off the top of me head, but the incomplete list of new Brit comedies over the last 5 years swamps this list of 3 (at most?) revived shows over it's history

^^ I think that last statement is actually a bit too bold to be true

edit: TOP GEAR !, which came back infinitely more successful than before it was killed
Aye I got ya, just wasn't sure if that was a point you was trying to make , I didn't know the Flintstones fact though so cheersDTS wrote:I didn't say The Simpsons copied The Flintstones I said it was inspired by it

Agreed, although I've been to see both (a friend bought Russell Howard tickets).seremtan wrote:russell howard = wanky, laddish stand-up, not a patch on stewart lee
Anyway, apparently Comedy Vehicle series 3 won't be screened till 2014 - gutting - but he's got a DVD coming in November, which - if it lives up to "41st Best Stand Up" or "If You Prefer a Milder Comedian" - should be great.
Richard Herring's pretty prolific in a more low-key way as well though; he's worth checking out on iTunes for his Edinburgh Fringe / Leicester Square podcasts. He puts out those podcasts for free so I thought it only fair to buy a couple of his DVDs since I enjoy his stuff.
Oh yeah, Histor's Eye on YouTube too, brilliant for the pathetic egg/bird puns that one of the puppets tries to crowbar into every thing he says

Re: Bombardier
Fresh Meat was a decent new addition to british TV comedy fare - written by the same guys that did peep show. One series so far I think, which was very enjoyable, looking forward to the next one.
