Goodbye ACTA, hello CETA

Post by Eraser »

With ACTA on its death bed, the rich folk try it again.
The EU, teamed up with Canada, tries to revive ACTA through a "different" act, CETA. I say "different" because it's largely the same as ACTA. In fact, relevant portions of the text found in CETA are identical to what's in ACTA.

See http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/6580/135/ for some details on this.
The text of CETA has been leaked and of course the European Commission responsible for this act is saying that "you shouldn't believe every leak you see". Also, they say CETA is totally different from ACTA.

Yeah, about two letters different.

Fucking lol! after all, they didn't end up rich by giving up when logic dictated so. They might have peanut brains, but they have balls the size of a bull!

Canada seems to be at the forefront of bullshit IP laws. What a scummy country.
