and was he trying to affect an australian accent throughout the movie? was that some kind of julian assange reference?

The Hunter 9/10

Excellent. Worth watching for the cinematography of Tasmania alone.
I love quake!

John Carter = 5/10 - A story about a societal outcast who doesn't like where he is but redeems himself fighting against enslavement by an alien race. Decent acting.

Battleship = 3/10 - A story about a societal outcast who doesn't like where he is but redeems himself fighting against enslavement by an alien race. Horrible acting.
And yes...they actually do find a way to get the boardgame's mechanics into the movie. But then again Hasbro has always been a shameless whore.

Both movies are summer fluff, happen to star the same bad actor, are heavy on the CG and both are not really worth watching.

Why you insist on watching these terrible movies is beyond me.
Now be a good lad and find a decent torrent of Juan de Los Muertos and redeem thyself.

John Carter opened on March 8th. So technically it's Winter fluff...

Drive - 9/10

A Ryan Gosling movie actually worth watching, mainly due to the fact that he doesn't speak and kicks all sorts of ass. Great soundtrack too.

The Divide - 4/10

A decent example of how quickly human society can break down but the execution, acting, and plot all sucked.

Mission Impossible 17 - 3/10

Apparently it's better than the previous three, but judging by this I can only imagine how shitty they must be.

The Vow - 5/10

Girlfriend wanted me to watch it with her. Acting was ok, but the girl was a complete bitch and the lead actor's massive neck kept distracting me. Pacing was good and the ending was well done.

Contraband - 6/10

Mark Wahlberg is one of my favourite actors, but this is just another mindless action movie starring Ben Foster as a *gasp* bad guy. It's worth watching, just don't expect anything intelligent out of it.

The Three Musketeers (shameless remake) - 1/10

Horrible, awful, stupid. Don't even bother.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - 9/10

Slow pacing at first, but it's probably the first good Daniel Craig movie I've seen. Should watch the original Swedish version next.

The Adventures of Tintin - 8/10

The movie combines plots from three of the books, which may be a bit disengaging for someone who actually read them. However, the animation style brought life to Herge's art very well and I'm looking forward to the sequel. Extra points for nostalgia.

The Rum Diary - 5/10

Not much to say, just an average movie with decent performances all around. Plot moved very slowly with a few laughs along the way.

Shinjuku Incident - 5/10

A poorly-dubbed, all-out mafia turf war set in Shinjuku, Japan. The plot is good and you actually feel for the characters, but it's not your typical Jackie Chan movie. He doesn't know kung fu and there is no cool fight choreography. Still worth watching.

Intouchables 9/10
French flick about a crippled rich man who takes on a senegalese guy from the banlieus as a personal nurse. The kind of movie that leaves you with a happy, warm feeling. They pull it off because it's not an American movie, which would have included obligatory over the top emotional moments or out of place violent scenes of some sort. But instead there's none of that, which is a good thing.

Finally saw Avengers Assemble and contrary to everyone else in the world I thought it was mindless and terrible. The only decent bit was that one with the hulk when he flung thimgemy about like a rag-doll.

I guess I should have added the qualifier "all things considered" as the lead actor sucked but there's not alot to work with in this shit movie.

Can't find any. :(

But from what I know of the film it's something I'd want to watch with friends while blazed.

Adam's Appels. 9/10
Had to rewatch it after hearing "how deep is your love" all over on the radio lately.
So awesome... gotta give it to the scandinavians, I like their humour.

Another awesome scandinavian, although not funny at all film is Deliver Us From Evil. 8/10
Talking about this one -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1272012/ , not the irish production from 2006.
Little town in nowhere sweden suffers (industrial) recession. The tycoon's wife is found dead near a lonely road. Hit and run, probably. The citizens, most of them former employees of the tycoon seek a responsible for the murder and they don't have a trial in mind. Soon, they make out one of the immigrants to be their victim. Only the just-turned-home attourney can help him. The ending is a bit over the top. But overall it's a good study of "small town in trouble" mine field, imo.
