Haha... what a coincidence. Just have started to work with Maya, too. Actually it's awesome... but no programm can imitate the great workflow of Radiant!

Well, when we are in maya... :) I would like to know if there is some way to render texture of some object to file - texture with lighting of scene. Simply like 3D objects in Quake are with shadows and so on... So if there is way how to export rendered texture in maya on object. I can't express it better, just hope you understand me :(

Here's a very nice and beginner-friendly tutorial from DXP over at z4 just created at the time you asked for it, fKd, seems I forgot to post it. It teaches you how to create a Resident Evil environment (who would have guessed? :smirk: ) and render this thing for finally having backgrounds to put back into the Resident Evil game itself. Definitely one of the more user-friendly and funny tutorials:
clicky
If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron.
-Lee Trevino, golfer who actually has been struck by lightning.
