Ungh, I'm not surprised in the least.

I've been trying for the last month to get my medical MJ license and it's hard as fuck to get any help in VT on the matter. I'm eligible for a card, but finding a doctor to sign the forms is a nightmare. Not to mention there are no dispensaries in the state, even though VT is approved for four. There's something like 150-200 registered patients in the entire state, so I doubt a dispensary will ever open up, anyway. I'm about to start asking random people on the street if they know a good doctor. :(

Fortunately, I have a friend who grows and she just gave me a giant cola for my pain.

read this if you want a really good overview of prohibition (alcohol as well as drugs) since the 19th century

apropos the article in the OP: it isn't money interests that keep drugs illegal. lobbyists like that guy, and the police unions etc, are just jumping on a bandwagon, milking the existing system for all they can get. if marijuana were 100% legal, the same guys would be working out ways to get a bigger slice of *that* pie instead

you yankee americans and your conspiracy theories...

would be nice to get it legalized, if only so I can walk into a store and choose from a wonderful variety, instead of having to get whatever garbage southern rednecks, thugs and mexicunts trickle down my way. Nobody is a professional, down here...oh, how I hate acting friendly to the shitholes of society just to get a bag.

If it's legalized, the "wonderful variety" will probably turn into garbage pretty quickly as everyone and their uncle starts growing their own shite.

The only good stuff will be super expensive or stuff you grow yourself. Which is fine with me, I'll convert my fucking living room into a grow room. :D

wut? you're totally wrong. if you want proof, look at California, which has excellent dispensaries. if anything, it will open the road for serious growers to get their quality product out there in a big way...sure there will be the shit option out there, but guess what, you don't have to buy from them...competition will assure there will be great stuff available, and for cheap!

Maybe I'm just jaded because I don't live in a city. Here in VT, I'm sure that my only local options would be terrible, solely because competition would be scarce. :(

Yeah, that's true. I have been looking at it from the short-term perspective. I still see it as individual dispensaries, before big companies get into the mix. Though it would be interesting to see what Marlboro would do.

And yes, I am. :ninja:
