Re: Borderlands 2
Looks like more of the same.
I'll buy it in a reduced Steam sale then never manage to organize the four people at the same time to play it all over again, should be a blast. I did like what I played of the first

Yeah I played through with pulse a fair way through. Fulm has it too. If Durk's game we should try and organise something tonight

Re: Borderlands 2
I put about 50 hours in the first game but Brick sucked in the DLC zones so I quit playing. Never did bother creating a new character.
Re: Borderlands 2
What happened to all the bros (yeah, you know who you are) who were playing Borderlands with me? We never did finish it. I'm getting tired of buying games with you guys and playing just the first two levels before you guys get distracted by something else. You guys haven't even finished L4D2.

Re: Borderlands 2
That's because someone insisted on playing nightmare mode and we got assfucked in the mall repeatedly until our will to play was gone.
Re: Borderlands 2
No it's because you suck.

Nero isn't dubstep.Memphis wrote:Looks utter wank. Sounds even worse. Dubstep just sounds like 2 cats fucking in a dustbin to me.
Re: Borderlands 2
It was a game bug that spawned an infinite horde on that map with the early release, it's been fixed now. Expert isn't that hard.shaft wrote:That's because someone insisted on playing nightmare mode and we got assfucked in the mall repeatedly until our will to play was gone.

Re: Borderlands 2
I have Borderlands 1 also but something irks me about it and it took Dead Island to tell me what it is exactly; turns out i simply suck at these types of open world games. When you play it with 4 players it’s a blast shooting/stabbing things, that's all nicely done… but the travelling just does my head in. I’m always the clown desperatly trying to follow the three other dudes who quickly knew where we were going and why, whilst i stumbled around completely unaware of any greater sense of purpose and direction.
“Let’s go up and left after these mobs!” they’d say for instance, and i’d be like “Right, just let me check out this bright spot/cardboard box on the floor right here because it might be hiding something” and then when i’d figure out it was nothing everyone would be long gone and i’d turn the other left and get hopelessly lost.

Re: Borderlands 2
does anyone know what the main sting is sampled from on Nero's 'me and you'? the da-DA,da-DAA bit - not the breakdown right after that where it goes all hoover noises. for reference, here's the slightly more listenable mix by dirtyphonics (but the main elements are still there): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFykqOXnZlg
instantly recognise most of the stuff they use as big, speeded up chunks of old 80s tunes (e.g. there's one by hall and oates) and then curse myself for the rest of the day by having two equally annoying pop songs stuck in my head - but the 'me and you' one is always just out of reach, think the original is locked in a very dark dungeon at the bottom of my musical memory next to the hair metal.

Re: Borderlands 2
Couldn't it be one of their own samples?
Re: Borderlands 2
no, have definitely heard it before - just can't think where.

Re: Borderlands 2
I got so dissapointed with people cheating in the 1st one and the dev's doing absofuckinglutely nothing about it that I sold my copy. Won't buy again.
Re: Borderlands 2
Yeah, infinite armor guns that do so much damage that it kills the end boss in 1 shot. I even played on the xbox 360, it was ridiculously rampant. So bad that one guy felt bad for me and dropped me a shield that I saw had infinite armor, you could never bring it down. Made the entire game pointless.
I hosted matches and about 50% were using some items that had been modded to ridiculous effect. I hoped it'd get patched but it never did, ruined the end of the game. 2 guys joined up, I asked them if any of them were cheating cause I wanted to experience a fair end fight. Both said they weren't and the second the boss shows up, boom 1 shot dead. I was so pissed.

Re: Borderlands 2
Save editors. You could even create your own weapons due to the fact that they were just amalgamations of various flags.
Re: Borderlands 2
Hello! Long time lurker of the LEM forum, but wanted to post because Borderlands is one of my all time favorites.
Don't know how many of you guys have seen these, it sheds a little light on the characters. It doesn't give too much away, and while I'm sure that's by design, it also may be cause they're still tweaking the characters.
Meet the Assassin
Meet the Siren
Meet the Gunzerker
Meet the Commando
I like to play new games kind of conservatively at first since it's a good way to learn the nuances as I go. I'm really looking forward to probably starting as the Gunzerker or Commando to get used to the new weapons and the ins and outs of the game while playing it more as a typical FPS before replaying as a more technical character like the Assassin or Siren.
I agree with Kracus though, I really hope they fix the online cheats. People were able to create their own weapons and shields in a modding program and bring them into the game. It sounds like a neat idea for creative modding purposes, but it seems all people did was make 1-shot kill weapons and invincible shields. It makes playing with these people really boring. Even worse, the modded guns and shields that break the game basically spread like wildfire cause everyone was dropping them and new players would pick them up not knowing they were custom creations and duplicate them and drop them for other players. Basically you're left with 90% of the people that still play Borderlands using game breaking weapons and shields.
To make matters worse, people were saving their modded equipment on thumb drives and were able to bring the items in game on consoles, so game breaking equipment is on every platform (lol, I love Borderlands so much I bought it for the 360 when it was first released then bought it for mac when the game of the year edition was released).
It's not a deal breaker, but it is kind of a bummer being restricted to only playing with people you know. While that's not a huge deal for new games, once the game is over a year old it gets harder to find people still playing. Hopefully creating your own equipment isn't possible in Borderlands 2.
