he also doesn't believe in evolution nor in climate change.
Re: Unclassified Afghanistan war report
I'm seriously getting angry at my inability to properly verbalize just how fucking retarded the idea of forced parenthood is.

Re: Unclassified Afghanistan war report
I have to say that I've always found it kinda funny that right-wingers - nearly without exception - say alot of issues should be "state's rights"...whether it be on the topic of abortion or healthcare (which for some reason isn't discussed as the same fucking thing) instead of it being a federal issue. And, bluntly, I've always wondered about non-right-wingers who say the same thing. Methinks they haven't really thought it through...
To this attitude that fundamental human rights should be decided at the state level I have one question: What happened to "United" in "United States"? As several people have pointed out, isn't the country supposed to be a society, with people working together as one within it for their country's future? It's one thing to have tax rates, police immigration attitudes and speed limits being different from state to state, but access to abortions, education and birth control?
I have a theory:
It's quite obvious that the south is still really fucking angry at losing the Civil War and doesn't want anything to do with what the rest of the country feels/does/says (especially with some BLACK President) because for them it's their way or the highway and if they can't convince others that their backward way of thinking is viable and not the dumbest thing they've ever heard then they - without exception - want out of the arrangement, instead of compromising. Compromise doesn't even cross their minds. Several southern states wanted to secede from the Union when Lincoln wanted to give slaves voting rights and I'm sure several members here can probably recollect something more recent the southern states wanted to secede over....and I'm sure it'll usually be over something retarded. So again...I'll be honest about my opinions here...whenever someone says "I think that should be settled as a state's right" what they're really saying is "I wish this fucking country had no liberals in it...like my home state of conservative rednecks where we do things the right way, under God...and we wouldn't have to debate this issue."
...and then I fully expect them to say "and I'm taking my ball with me so you can't play with it"....like a fucking 4 year old. If they can't run the federal government the way they want it, then they'll just try shut the whole thing down....again. The Republicans have tried, what?...4 times in the last 2 year alone to shut down the government? Harper did it at least once in Canada and only because he was about to get his wings clipped.
The right wing ideology and the people who practice it are a joke in nearly every concievable way. They do not care about their country or anyone else except what they themselves (and "their kind") can get from it...because we know "the Other" is a devil-worshiping homo abortion doctor who is so evil he has sex for fun.

Oh...and sorry Memph, Nightshit and anyone else who likes Ron Paul but anyone who names their kid after Ayn Rand - that no-friend narcissist who was even more putridly ugly on the inside than she was on the outside, that hyena-level human skank that we're all glad is dead - has a fucking screw loose.
And Ron Paul's kid...the one he named after Ayn Rand...have you heard him talk?

I've read some of her books, they actually weren't bad but she's as nutty as a fruitcake.

Atlas Shrugged is still on my to-read list.
Just doubt if it's worth the effort, much like the bible, the koran, and whatever the fuck mormons and scientologists base their confused lifes on.

Just to reiterate: Ron Paul doesn't just like Ayn Rand, he named his kid after her.
And white-supremist rednecks name their kid Adolf.

Same here. I skimmed part of it years ago (it's fucking huge if you don't know) and decided it was mostly BS and moved on thru my libertarian phase like other adjusted people. One of my good friends had a typical early 20s lib roommate(WASP male, came from privileged background, went to Xavier paid for, got a job at a financial company out of school, thinks people need to pick themselves up by their bootstraps and work harder) who thought it was gold and convinced him to read it.Plan B wrote:Atlas Shrugged is still on my to-read list.

Now my friend is reading the book and she resonates with him, so I have to read it to explain why it's bullshit. all 1200 pages
This thread didn't really stay on topic....I still need to read that report, it's been in my queue 2 days. Will do that at lunch t'day

Re: Unclassified Afghanistan war report
I read Anthem and something else of hers that I don't recall. I'd recommend Anthem, it's quite short but interesting but something that's been done better I guess like 1984. I think she wrote Anthem first though.Plan B wrote:Atlas Shrugged is still on my to-read list.
