Fourteen years in Vegas has certainly desensitized me to a lot of things. Turning your last dollar of the night into a profit never gets old though....



Have any of you ever hit the lottery or won a bunch of money? A friend of a friend just nailed 50,000 USD on a SuperBowl bet last week. While the stories are common in Vegas, do any of you have some to share? Any of you California folk hit the lottery?

Personally, I've never won more than $2,000. Three years ago, I was horribly drunk sitting at a machine and put in 5 bucks. I was about to pass out but somehow got a 3 line winning hand on a max bet. I ran away from the machine terrified that I broke it. When I saw "2000" flashing on the screen I thought it was a HEX error code. My roommate, laughing his head off, chased me down and said I won. We walked back, cashed out, and bought pancakes.

I tend to buy California lotto tickets when I go to LA and generally threw a few bucks at blackjack after long night out. For the most part, it pays for a few drinks.

You're about due for a trip then? I think it was Jan 2011 when I flew to Toronto and you came down?

I went twice last year, once in March and once in October, and the year before that I was there in November. I'm thinking my next trip won't be until November this year when my cousin and his buddies from San Diego go.

The expression itself doesn't mean anything. I said it because I got two 7's and a "double" multiplier.

Three 7's = Pays 80/1
Two 7's + a double = (Payout of Three 7's) x2
I won 160 dollars on a 1 dollar bet. The digital text on the bottom left shows exactly that.

That's what I thought, although I didn't see the text display. $160 on a $1 bet, that's a nice profit!
