I liked the DOS game Indy 500.



My god the sound is annoying :|. You could do all kinds of customisable shit with gear ratios and tires and fuel weights which I was too young to understand properly. I just used to like crashing into the other cars and watching the replay.

My favourite racing game is a shite ASCII DOS game I programmed in a single sitting for a class once.

I probably have it kicking around on some HDD or disc somewhere... I programmed an algorithm to procedurally (coders' favourite word) generate the race track, thus ensuring endless replayability. Also, when you win the race, you get mad $$$ and can buy sweet rides.

Wow man, always wondered what the name of that game was. I played the shit out of it in the arcades. It had force feedback and a fully working clutch system which was badass. That fucking loop was a bitch.

Forza 4 is where it's at nowadays tho.

Need for Space Shift 1 and 2 are my favourites. Here's some of my time trial winning laps. I have a regional record on one car/track combo.
Amazing game, I think I preferred it to F1 2011 which was bugged to fuck.

I would destroy you if I still owned Shift 1 which wasn't bad. Not sure how good Shift 2 is cause I stopped buying the NFS series when they introduced the mandatory codes to play multiplayer.

you should seriously be playing Forza 4 though, it blows Shift away.
