And very nice it is too actually. I had no real plans to invest any money or time in this game but the demo has tweeked my interest a little to be honest. It looks stunning and the track on offer is lovely to drive.
Top Gear bits and bobs in the main game too which is nice for those without GT5 (I didn't buy it after the mess that was GT4)
Hmmmm I always find myself wanting to get the Forza games, and I play them for a little bit, but really you need to dedicate yourself to that game. There's too much of a time investment in tuning cars in order to be competitive online which is ultimately what makes me bored of the game.
I may get this but I'm still looking out for the next awsome arcade racer. I still play Blur from time to time and Burnout Revenge.
That's the special autovista mode in which you can view a car from close up, and there's only 25 cars in total that you can view in this mode. The cars don't look like that in-game.
just checked some screenies, and apparently you are correct. But the incredible disconnect in quality from the car models to the actual track and the rest of the surroundings is just getting silly.
i thought that opening preview part with the ferrari was cool. it's a shame all the assists were on and you couldn't turn them off though. auto-brake, steering assist, etc. meant never letting off the gas and a super slow time. how anyone could play like that through the entire game is beyond me.
rest of the game is pretty solid tho. shits all over gt5 as far as presentation goes which makes it about 10x more enjoyable to play right out of the gate. haven't played more than about 45 min so i can't really make anymore qualified comparisons.
I'm still playing the demo however I'm really enjoying the rivals races. I love that you can pick the ghost of the person ahead of you and race against them, freaking awsome.
It's too bad I don't have any Q3W challengers to pit myself against, yall are too slow.
Oh and btw, Eraser, before complaining that a game is too slow, why don't you learn how to drive with the assists off and put in some decent laptimes.
I've been doing the rival challenge in the pagani. I'm at work right now so I'm not sure on the name of the course. I think I'm down to something like 1:44 with no cheating. IE: no walls, no offtrack, no collisions and no rewinding. If you're on the 360 and on my friends list (I beleive you are) then you should see my time listed there.
I race with assists off, ABS breaks and Manual tranny but I don't really care about that stuff although I doubt you could do better than 1:44 with assists on.
I'm probably gonna pick the game up soon. Been playing Rage... awsome graphics but the game itself is a little meh.
What car was the 1:44 set in? If it is a Pagani then we have an issue as the UK demo came with an Impreza, a Ferrari 458 and the Mercury Cougar Eliminator...if there are other cars you need to unlock or summat let me know how...?
nah nah this is int he Rivals Challenge mode. The demo shoudl have 2 options, quick race which gives you those cars and Rival Challenge, which has 3 challenges, only 1 is a time trial, the first one, with no traffic and it's raced in a pagani Zonda. However I have documented my race times in the Imprezza above @ a smooth 1:40.368 which I might add should take at least a few tries to beat
but you should seriously check out the rival mode, way more fun since you'll get to race against my actual ghost.
