an american or canadian would have donned full body armour, then run away and sulked because the water was too cold

Water too cold? You're obviously unaware of Canadian activities. Let me tell you about the bay of Fundy which I go for a swim in from time to time.
It's fucking cold as fuck. I'll bet you can't even get in past your waist. It's so fucking cold, it fucking hurts my bones when I set foot in it. It keeps the entire city fucking chill the entire summer. It's so cold here in July I can get away wearing pants and a jacket all year round and no one thinks it's stupid because they're all doing it too.
Now I don't know it's exact temperature, but I've been told it varies in temperature about 4 degrees from Winter to Summer.
Now I'm not saying I'd go swim with a great white shark for shits and giggles but I do take offense to your suggestion that we Canadians will sulk at cold water. I've never even set foot in warm water, seriously I have no concept of any water anywhere ever being warm when walking into it. When I was a kid, around 14 years old I went swimming every single day that summer. By the end of it I could hold my breath nearly 4 minutes underwater.

Earth's second one is called Cruithne. It was discovered in 1986 and it takes a convoluted horseshoe path around our planet as it is tossed about by the Earth's and the Moon's gravity.
