No idea...I have no read the books as yet. They are on my hit list though.

Saying that I am guessing that they are quite far along the first book as there has been contact with the white walkers (zombie folk)

What actually happened at the finale of this episode? Was it bodies of dead black brothers rising up to attack Lord Mormont, whereupon Jon Snow kills them with the sword Mormont gave him?

And someone mentioned dragons; so Drogo's dead and burned, and Dany has claimed the baby dragons from his funeral pyre?

If so, you're right at the end of the first book.

Well there are only 10 episodes so things are really gonna ramp up in the final 2 episodes. Then there will be the long difficult wait until they release the second season.

HBO announced that they would be commissioning a second season on the strength of the reception of the premiere episode.

I thought that was a pretty brilliant scene myself. Guess if you can't stand the sight of the occasional booby this series might not be for you though...

I don't care that much about the boobies, but I find it feels misplaced in the series. And it was a bit uncomfortable though when my gf walked in on me during that scene.
They're taking nudity pretty far in this series and so far, it hasn't really been functional. Most of the time it really comes across as if they're putting naked girls in there because, you know, they can and it's almost like they have this quota of at least one nude scene per episode. It's like 13 year old boys they discover they can post pictures of nude women on a UBB and get away with it.

What's making this impression even stronger is the fact that, so far, in these seven episodes I've seen, I have seen a grand total of one nude penis, and that was in episode seven. Just like those 13 year old boys. Boobies are great, but seeing a dick and not be disgusted by it means you are absolutely, 100% sure, without a doubt, gay. And gay, wow, now there's something we can't show (talking about it is fine though).
