what are you workin on?

Post by fKd »

noticed i have not seen many maps around here for a while. whats going on crew? i myself have a bunch in the 80-90% complete area. (most have had threads here) but i have a feeling ill never release em.

might be making some maps for steel storm dlc http://www.steel-storm.com/ but thats still tbc as i might be busy with the maverick comp which is just around the corner. lookin forward to getting back into old gtk. gonna try make something unique, not fall into auto pilot editing mode.

so, lets hear it, whats cookin?

I`m working on a large TDM / FFA map called Domain of Red Snakes, though procrastination really has been getting in the way of progress. I have the layout finished though, I just need to add some detailing, add lights, and fix some leaks before posting a beta. Hopefully I can release it before the Maverick Comp, I have a CTF map planned for it as well.

Been working too hard in real life, playing Brink, trying to make my mind up if I like it or not. Then waiting for the MSG comp so I force myself to have time to map.

I was working on Scrap Brain with Anthem, but now I wait until he complete his school stuff and then back to work :)

Also I'm preparing for Maverick's competition.

Unfortunately, I'm not really working on anything atm. School and other stuff is eating up all my time. I probably wont be able to touch anything before the next MSG competition. :/

I'm improving my already realeased level Shibam. I overlooked some things I really want to correct, noticed a way to improve bot behaviour in a certain area and am trying to get bots use the tunnels without having to push them in with jumppads. And I think I have to change the item layout a bit.

Another project I'm working on started in spring 2010. I wanted to get this map done in half a year, stopped working on it, learned tons of new things about mapping and picked up the work again. Here are two ancient preview shots:

Implementing all the ideas I have for this level will take some time. I'm not the fastest mapper and don't hang around in Radiant 24/7, so there is no release date in sight. IF I will finish this map, prepare for tons of eye candy (this map is the reason why I started the Higher poly count without lower fps? thread).
