Where should I post my maps for download online?

Post by VolumetricSteve »

The topic about says it all...

I've been using Planet Quake and Map Factory...but....Planet Quake is slow, annoying, and randomly adds extra extensions to downloadable content...sometimes....

and Map Factory is good, but their servers are so slow, and there's no way to manage a portfolio or account of any kind...so if you upload a bad file by accident, it takes FOREVER to get them to fix it

Are there any really....hopping places left on the net that post quake 3 maps?

Get your own host.
Submit to LvL if it's a finished map:

LvLworld, eh? *investigates*

I suppose I could upload them to my website, but I want them to be in a place where people will be likely to find them, so big things like LvLworld, Map Factory, Planet Quake, anywhere they'd be showcased along side other maps.

LvLworld is a great place for showcasing your map. q3a.ath.cx is a great place to expose/store your map in an archive of other maps. Definitely post it on your own website as well, and put your website in a readme in the pk3 file.
