Maya Plug-ins

Post by themuffinman »

I recently raped my bank balance and got Autodesk Maya. Now I'm looking for plug-ins for importing/exporting MD2, MD3 and possibly also MD5 (eventually). I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything. Any idea where I can get them?

For md5:

I know that there are md3 exporters for Max or Blender... for Maya I only found this (after some seconds of google search)

Agree with Bliccer, I know nothing about Maya, but you could import into Blender and export from there. Would work in both directions.

3ds max already ships with ase export function. Otherwise you could try Milkshape.

Hmmm, Blender, I didn't think about that! As for MilkShape, it's a great program as far as the vast number of formats it supports but I've only got the trial version at the moment and it's expired :(

Thanks for the help! I'll definitely give Blender + Bliccer's links a try. Now if only I could get MD5 support in Quake 2...
