lol no.. But the initiation ceremony was pretty weird. So far its a lot of memorization. Ive just memorized a 3 page speech.... Taken me about a month to get it right.
Its a lot of fun. A lot of nice and well connected people.

My grandpa was some super high ranking mason guy but I forget what he was. Couple friends are in it too. I was never interested because it is so closely tied to religion.

I'll admit I wasn't prepared for the religious part of it. You have to acknowledge a greater power than yourself. Not "God." Most of the guys at my lodge consider the G to stand for Geometry. There is no talk of religion. The old testament bible is used in the rituals as a prop. Cuz really, thats all masonry is. A bunch of guys staging allegorical plays once a month with costumes and props. Each of the plays signifies a moment in history. You are expected to memorize lines and participate. When you've passed. You move on to another degree. It's pretty cool to watch and then be part of. Some of the parts have 10-15 pages of dialogue you have to memorize.
And then we do a lot for Charity. Thats also a lot of fun.
