True say, but tbh it's only taken me a bit of digging to find out the battery-hogging stuff to turn off. Should I have to turn stuff off? Hells no, but the things I do have to turn off aren't a big deal.Doombrain wrote:I just want the best phone, and a good batt life is high on the list of musts.

I'll say again that I'm not anti-iPhone by any means, I'm just anti-iPhone fanboi.

Re: iphone to soon disappear ...
Apple is being hit hard with lawsuits over iPhone 4.
"Apple has been accused of violation of the Federal Communications Act, three counts of products liability related to negligence, defect in design and breach of implied warranty, intentional and negligent misrepresentation, fraud by concealment, unfair business practices and more. 'The iPhone 4 manifests design and manufacturing defects that were known to Defendants before it was released which were not disclosed to consumers, namely, a connection problem caused by the iPhone 4's antenna configuration that makes it difficult or impossible to maintain a connection to AT&T's network,' the California complaint reads."

Re: iphone to soon disappear ...

Two of the engineers here at work used to work as test engineers for Sony-Ericsson and I asked them about the hand-hold-drop-signal bit. Sounds to me like the antenna design engineers weren't talking to the engineers doing the case design. At any rate, speaking as a test engineer myself, there's no excuse for a HUGE flaw like that getting through to the finished product. None whatsoever. Bad Apple, no buttsecxz.

Honestly, that's the only thing going for it. It's okay to keep posting it if it makes you feel better.bitWISE wrote:http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2365915,00.asp

Re: iphone to soon disappear ...
How convenient.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Apple-stu ... 8.html?x=0NEW YORK (AP) -- Apple Inc. said Friday that it was "stunned" to find that its iPhones have for years been using a "totally wrong" formula to determine how many bars of signal strength they are getting.
That drop seems exaggerated because the phone can wrongly display four or five bars of signal strength when it shouldn't, Apple said.
"Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place," the company said in a statement to users.
