If you haven't noticed already, area 51 contains the longest runway in the world.

Yeah I saw that documentary, pretty interesting how they'd fly their employees from vgas and the planes they used to fly them in. I can only imagine what they threaten these people with to keep the silence.
LOL, they can catch a couple of hippies 3 miles into a warning zone out in the middle of nowhere but they cant catch 2 jumbo jets heading for the heart of new york...Memphis wrote:There was a documentary here in the UK where they tried to get as close as possibleKracus wrote:Yeah by next to it they mean like 10 miles away.SplishSplash wrote:Did anybody read this?

yes
i dont see how thats so unbelievable?
in one area you have dozens and dozens of planes flying around (granted not that close) and youre comparing it to a place thats in the middle of nowhere? which do you think is more easily protected? which do you think is more vulnerable?
whats wrong with you brits? no logic over there?

looking at a city for terrorism or whatever is like looking through a haystack for a needle. so many people, so many planes, so many things...its harder to spot the bad bug.losCHUNK wrote:i thought looking through the desert would be like looking for a needle in a haystack
where as 2 monitered flying tubes going were they shouldnt be wasnt picked up on
in the desert, if theres some random thing going around that shouldnt be, its obvious and its clear to see.
(as for being picked up on...it was picked up on immediately, but back then they didnt know what was going to happen to the plane.)
