I'm trying to get tickets to Roger Water's The Wall tour later this year, and all the shows are in out of state venues that I've never been to before.
I want to get good seats, but I can't figure out which ones to get. One show is at the Verizon Center in D.C., which is a possibility for us, but their website only shows seating configurations for sporting events, because the seats are arranged differently for different concerts, depending on the artist.
Does anybody know how to find good seats for a venue that you've never seen before?
Ideas?
Concert seating questions...
Re: Concert seating questions...

If you notice on that link, the dropdown controls the layout based on the event. I'd say thats a pretty safe looking bet for a rock concert.

Out of the five times I've seen Rammstein, two of them have been in assigned seats and I have to say it's not actually all that bad, and in fact if it's a band that put a lot of effort into their stage performance then it's often nice to just enjoy the music and the show without people all round you pushing. That said you don't get nearly as much of the raw sweaty crowd unity element that's so energetic and exciting when you're at the front jumping around in time with thousands of other people.

Thanks bit, guess I should have just gone to ticketmaster first.
We decided to go to the Atlanta concert. That's going to be a whole lot easier with a 5-month old baby. We can just bring a babysitter along with us and enjoy the show.
I've never been to that arena either though.

The only other concert I've ever been to with an assigned seat was the first time I saw Roger Waters. That was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had.
It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but it's also nice to know you'll be able to get back to where you were, in case you need to get up for a beer or go to the little boys room.
It's also nice just to be able to take it all in without dealing with a bunch of morons.
