bork[e] wrote:Bosses imo make a game boring...the way Doom3 and Riddic was played out is perfect. I hate games that at the end of each level they throw you in a one room building with some 20ft monster that is taken down with a certian hit...
Well I loved RTCW because of the end bosses and I hated halo because after 15 minutes of gameplay the game had absolutely nothing new to offer...killing the same boring imps over and over again gets boring.

Zelda fucking owned when I was 5 years old...it's a little bit too nerdish for me now...saving Zelda over and over again was repetitive and boring.

Vehicles, in 2k3?
umm..
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

UT2K4 had vehicles. The physics takes a little getting used to after Q3A, but the slow gameplay is a result of the map sizes which need to be pretty big to make decent use of the vehicles (the biggest map I've ever seen is Panalesh for Onslaught - bigger than some of those tiny countries if you scaled it up).
Actually all the other gametypes apart from Onslaught suck big rhinoceros dick, so point taken.
What I missed from UT99 - Turbine, and the music. The music owned. They went with a much more Quake 3 style music for UT2k3, it DID change for UT2k4 with more up beat techno style music but it was never the same.
Ok, MORE Unreal Engine 3 shots, looking more like UE3 but damn, still not THAT amazing in the player department when you think about the fact we had these kind of looks 1 year ago and this is not out for another 3 years... (And yeah, i can say that because its an engine showcase, NOT a game )
rofl...the characters look dumb...the graphics look awesome but since the gameplay is gonna be shit nobody's gonna care...looks like more of the same to me so I won't even bother trying it :arse:
If I want trees everywhere I might play Baldur's Gate or World of WorldCraft...which are two of the worst games of the decade...

Maybe I'm gonna play WoW when I'm dead...if it gets that boring up there.
I have many real life friends who play WoW now...but they used to play Tribes when we played q2 so it's an acquired disease for 'em...they fell in the dumb potion when they were young...smashing fruitloops with wooden sticks ain't my thing sorry...

lol...I think I understand now...you never played quake.
The problem, for me at least, is Q3 just never took off for me...
I loved Quake 1, loved Quake 2, loved Unreal even... But as soon as these guys made their own MP game out of it... I just couldn't get into it... I loved UT2k3/4 more so than Quake 3, it just had more appeal, but i neverp layed it online. I played Quake 3 online for a bit but never got into it, i just didn't find it... I dunno... As enjoyable...
Quake 2 was the biggest amount of play time though. Action Quake 2, more so than anything. That thing killed my life...
