How bout date movie guys? Love 'ol steve, and was majorly pumped today going to see it, maybe that's why I wasn't too impressed. Though I recall thinking "short flick it was" so guess I can say I enjoyed it... but the, "ZIP YOUR VAGINA" line was A+

Dune (the original) = 5/10 - Whoever insists this movie is better than the 2000 television series remake is clinging too hard to nostalgia.

Thanks for this, I put off watching the series because I didn't find the movie to be that great but I'll probably give 'em another look now.

The series sticks a good bit closer to the books, which is a good thing.

Blade Trinity

Yes the Wesley Snipes vampire killing movie.

It has been around for years, somehow I seemed to have missed it entirely ..checks.... yes 2004. Thought so :smirk:

Clicky

Not a bad movie. I personally was surprised. 8/10

I saw the Dune movie in the theatres when it first came out back in 1984 and thought it was boring way back then as well. The television series definitely changed my opinion of the entire Dune universe. The new version also enticed me to watch "Children Of Dune"...something I wouldn't have ever watched otherwise (although after watching Children Of Dune I can't really recommend it as it doesn't really have a point).

TBH...I only recently watched the original movie again to double-check my opinion from the first time I saw it.

La Horde 6/10

uninspired low budget zombie killing stuff that is saved only by it being french which is strange somehow and also by being the goriest movie i've seen in a while. One or two characters bring the funny.

does it follow the L4D type setup that was in the trailer?

Wow, how have I missed this gem?

Highly recommended.
Some of the best stuff on TV, full stop. Dying for season 3 to start. Have you seen Justified? It looks to be pretty awesome, FX have really made some great series in that last few years.

No, never heard of it until now. Did a quick IMDB ckeck and it is now on my list of must see shows.

Tnx.

Not a movie, a series, caught the new Doctor Who on BBC America starring the new Doctor, Matt Smith. Replaced David Tennant , don't think he is as good a Dr. Who as David still an excellent show:

Yes, just started the series here in Oz (last week anyway) on our ABC. The series looks like it will develop nicely.

We were at this one last night

The new guy, Matt Smith looks like he is doing OK. Remembers Tennant was in the role for some years :sly:

Next week he's off to help Winston Churchill

The new Who is terrible, the plots are worthless, the scripts are a joke, and Matt Smith is nowhere near as good as Tennant.

Which is a shame because Moffat wrote some of the best Who episodes with Tennant, hes just useless at doing a full season.

Recently saw Mississippi Burning.

I don't have a rating for it, but it was quite good--very powerful movie.

What are you talking about? the first two episodes were amazing, the most recent one with the weeping angels is a bit poor, but i think it'll improve in the second half. Matt Smith isn't as good as Tennant at the moment but Tennant started to take the role far too seriously and in contrast I quite like Matt's take on a more youthful Doctor, also give the lad chance - he's only just getting started. Not to mention that Amy Pond is extremely fiiiiiiiiiine.

I think Moffat will be saving himself for the last few episodes to build up to a good season finale.
