I'd like to see the vatican just admit they're lying. I mean really I'd LOVE to see it that'd be the best fucking thing since sliced bread. It'd be hilarious, I can just see it the pope walking up to the balcony and saying.
"btw all these centuries we've been completely full of shit, we're talking out our asses and none of this bullshit religion is actualy true."
That would be neat.

Yes, it would. But on the contrary this new guy tries to promote his stuff as the pure concentrate of eternal truth. That's the one reason for his election.Kracus wrote:I'd like to see the vatican just admit they're lying. I mean really I'd LOVE to see it that'd be the best fucking thing since sliced bread. Lawyers point to a letter the Vatican sent to bishops in May 2001 clearly stating the 1962 instruction was in force until then. The letter is signed by Cardinal Ratzinger, the most powerful man in Rome beside the Pope and who heads the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith - the office which ran the Inquisition in the Middle Ages.

Actually most people are a little embarrassed, cause he's such a prick.Massive Quasars wrote:All jokes aside. Do people in Germany care that they have a fellow countryman in office? Collectively, the country seems quite secular, progressive, supportive of abortion rights, and very gay. All of which Ratzinger despises.
I've seen a poll somewhere that said 29% of all germans would be in favor of Ratzinger, and 36% were against him.

That sums it up pretty well. It's really a rediculous concept when it's put like that - and that's really how it is!Nightshade wrote:The entire Catholic religion is a fucking joke. The Papacy is just the pie in the face followed by the seltzer water.
Hmm, we're supposed to believe that a guy in a stupid hat that's picked by a bunch of other guys in smaller, but equally stupid hats is suddenly the holiest person on Earth?

This morning germany's leading volks-newspaper Bild, which can be compared to the journalistic style of foxnews or The Sun in the UK, shows a huge pic of the artist formerly known as the 'Panzer-Kardinal' and headlines in ubertypos "We (i.e. the germans) are the Pope". It tells us about the "sensation of the millennium" *yawn* and the massive parties Ratzinger's election caused all over germany.
It's a lot of media hype in there, I know, but it seems to get sick and sicker.
