Lots of speculation on who's behind it...
pretty cool viral music videos
Re: pretty cool viral music videos
Well, that was certainly bizarre. The music kind of sounded like a cross between Nine Inch Nails and Royksopp. It was the only reason I bothered watching (listening) to any beyond the first.

So fucked in the head I stopped watching after the second one.
weird beats + weird visuals does not equal cool.

The numbers of the videos spell out words:
5.4.21.3.1.20.9.15.14.1.12 (goat video) = educational
9.1.13 (owl video) = iam
9.20.19.13.5 (whale video) = itsme
13.1.14.4.18.1.7.15.18.1 (bee video) = mandragora
15.6.6.9.3.9.14.1.18.21.13 (llama video) = officinarum
23.5.12.3.15.13.5-8.15.13.5 (monkey video) = welcome-home
edit:
yeah, digging a bit deeper I think the main theme here is (re)birth.

The second video shows some dripping white goo. A reference to the semen folklore?
All that and strawberries

a quote from wikipedia:
and another rather disturbing piece:There are classical Jewish commentaries which suggest that mandrakes help barren women to conceive a child though.
Mandrake in Hebrew is דודאים (dûdã'im), meaning “love plant”. Among certain Asian cultures, it is believed to ensure conception.
Especially the whale video shows images that look to resemble an embryo in a womb a bit. You see something that resembles an umbilical cord as well. This is seen in the first video as well.It was a common folklore in some countries that mandrake would only grow where the semen of a hanged man had dripped on to the ground; this would appear to be the reason for the methods employed by the alchemists who "projected human seed into animal earth". In Germany, the plant is known as the Alraune: the novel (later adapted as a film) Alraune by Hanns Heinz Ewers is based around a soulless woman conceived from a hanged man's semen, the title referring to this myth of the Mandrake's origins.

Re: pretty cool viral music videos
The problem with this is that both the music and visuals need each other to be worth paying attention to.
Re: pretty cool viral music videos
That is a problem, how, exactly?
Everyone assumes this is released by a musician but maybe it isn't. In that case everyone is looking in all the wrong places.

It would be a problem if this kind of music on an upcoming album release.
Re: pretty cool viral music videos
Reminds me a bit of Air.... and indeed Royksopp. But not as good. Vids are pretty artsy though

Interesting folklore surrounding this Mandrake plant. Found this bit of info as well:
Which could be represented by the various dogs seen in the videos. The woman in the video is also seen shouting or shrieking. The root of the plant is fabled to grow in the shape of a human, either male or female. In reality the root splits into two parts which grow, but this makes it look like legs I guess.
I also read on a site somewhere that the root comes in white and black variations where black is considered female. Since the woman in the video is all black, I think it's pretty apparant that she represents a Mandrake. The plant that's shown growing in the last video apparently is a mandrake plant as well.
sourceThe plant was fabled to grow under the gallows of murderers, and it was believed to be death to dig up the root, which was said to utter a shriek and terrible groans on being dug up, which none might hear and live. It was held, therefore, that he who would take up a plant of Mandrake should tie a dog to it for that purpose, who drawing it out would certainly perish, as the man would have done, had he attempted to dig it up in the ordinary manner.
