If there was any real wind that rope wouldn't have been hanging straight down like that. I know.

If there would have been "heavy wind" you wouldn't have heard a word I said. There was a slight breeze at best.

Re: 100 feet up.
Great point and pretty easy to notice. You might also notice that the river is completely flat. Too bad for EtUL that he's not bright enough to recognize the obvious.Scourge wrote:If there was any real wind that rope wouldn't have been hanging straight down like that. I know.
Re: 100 feet up.

Crazy shit YGP. Nice job with the camera too up there.
The only thing in my life comparable to this in terms of the view is when friends and I were sneaking into the nets that were in place under a bridge that was under construction - big highway overpass thing that crossed a river valley below. You could crawl onto the nets by climbing up the hill under the bridge and then crawl out on them and lie there looking straight down - the further out you climbed, the bigger the drop you were looking at. I climbed out to what was about a 150-200 foot drop and my sphincter was puckered so tight you couldn't have stuck a toothpick up my ass the whole time. If the net had broken, it would have been a real ugly deal.

I did when I was a kid, and they still make me a touch leery, but I find them exhilarating for the most part.LawL wrote:Fuckin' hate heights.

Re: 100 feet up.
Impressive there and you could even be bothered to bring a camera up with you
I'm always thinking how tower crane drivers must be batshit crazy people. Imagine climbing up and down this every day. I wonder, would they go down for lunch or eat it up there?

Re: 100 feet up.
When I was working derricks(relatively the same height) I would be up and down several times a day. It's really not that rough after you get used to it.
edit: Not talking about the tower crane, btw.

Re: 100 feet up.
i did a few years stint of steel erecting which saw mw doing silly climbs with heavy equipment daily, sometimes without safety gear.
hardest job i've ever done hands down, no redeeming points whatsoever.

Re: 100 feet up.
I didn't expect this to turn into a competition. If so, I would have said the tower was a lot taller and more difficult to traverse.
Re: 100 feet up.
I wasn't competing. Just saying it's something you get used to.
