Dude, I feel for you man. I had Charter for a month. Managed to get back on to Comcast though. I don't know how Charter manages to stay a business.Transient wrote:Oh, that's even worse. I know how that can be; my ISP is Charter.

Not to sound like a prick, but why did this thread devolve into a daily blog?
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
hardly any xbox 360 games run at 1080p. MS is lying to you.andyman wrote:pc looks better even when i'm playing at 800x600 at 80fps lol weak i know...

basically it putouts a signal in 1080p however the signal is upscaled in the box from 720p (or below, see halo3).
It's a fucking jip, how MS get away with this i don't know. when you start the PS3 on the dashboard you can see what 1080p should look like, pixel for pixel.

Yeah isn't MW2 640p...? So it wont exactly be sharp, lol...
Anyway, seriously wish I didn't prestige... Its nice to hear the award sounds every 2 seconds again, and yeah, the exclusive prestige challenged are great (although pointless... 10k XP every 25 silcenced weapon kills wtf?) But... Everything... Gone... :'(

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
My problem too. My aiming on the controller has improved a lot (still not ideal, but slowly getting there), but I just can't seem to keep from dying constantly. Like the guys were saying last night, I think a big part of it is learning the maps really well.Don Carlos wrote:54 for 56...
I just can't stop dieing
Ground War games destroy me. It seems like every time I kill somebody, I am immediately shot in the back by someone sniping me from a roof somewhere. I take that guy out, then immediately get picked off by someone else I never saw. Just too many people and way too many camping spots. If you want to go around back and take out a sniper, you have to run through a gauntlet of 5 or 6 more sniping spots to get there.
Terminal is great because the few sniping spots it has are countered by having multiple ways to cancel them out. Favela is just a camp-fest.
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Ground War is always chaotic, it's normally not that bad if you play any other game mode.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Yea, I do 5 times better in normal games of Demolition or TDM.
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
this game is so much better on the pc...the graphics, the skill levels, even the connection(which is still crap compared to cod4). and whats up with all the little kids playing? and they are all talking non-stop...
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
How does everybody here handle their custom classes?
I've got 5 custom classes available and I'm thinking about retooling them. Since I really only ever use the Scar, and last night I started using the TAR-21, I'm thinking about doing something like this:
SCAR-Small Maps: SCAR w/ grenade launcher and holo scope, as Primary; Stinger as Secondary; Bling, Cold-Blooded and Commando
TAR-Small Maps: TAR-21 w/ nade launcher and holo scope (when I unlock them), as Primary; Stinger as Secondary; Bling, Cold-Blooded and Commando
SCAR-Big Maps: SCAR with thermal scope, as Primary; Stinger as Secondary; Marathon, Lightweight and Commando
TAR-Big Maps: TAR-21 w/ thermal scope, as Primary; Stinger as Secondary; Marathon, Lightweight and Commando

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Yea, but my PC hasn't been upgraded in years, so it wouldn't play nearly as well. Plus, I don't have a 52" tv hooked up to my computer. On top of that, almost everybody I know who plays it, plays it on 360, so I've got people I can have teams with, and not have to deal with lame pub players as teammates all the time.scared? wrote:this game is so much better on the pc...the graphics, the skill levels, even the connection(which is still crap compared to cod4). and whats up with all the little kids playing? and they are all talking non-stop...
I can just mute the screaming 13 year olds. And I do.
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Just a hint for you all, remember that when you custom name your classes you can still use the Q3 colour codes in the name. I colour code my classes so that its quicker to select them.
Might not be as useful on a pad as it is with a mouse though.

true. doubt i'll ever play on xbox again unless im at someone's house. i just played 3 hours of ffa and lost once lol
ffa class:
acr silenced
m9 silenced
claymores
flash
scavenger pro
stopping power pro
ninja pro
5-7h-9
destroys everything.
people stopped calling me prestige hack after i i would win 30-3 and the like. one guy said (after i heard him running on metal and turned to shoot him) "oh is that what a radar hack looks like?"
lol people just make shit up. The first couple matches I had the headphones on backwards and was constantly turning the wrong way until i switched them. Then it was on point again. If yo're not using ninja pro you need to be...

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Short Range (HC)
ACR w/ Red Dot Sight, M1014 w/ Grip
Marathon Pro, Lightweight Pro, Commando Pro
I use this build in small maps, almost exclusively Favela, but if Rust comes up, sometimes I use it there as well. This class doesn't do too well in softcore, though (hence the name).
Medium Range (HC)
ACR w/ Red Dot Sight & Heartbeat Sensor, M1014 w/ Grip & Silencer
Bling Pro, Cold-Blooded Pro, Ninja Pro
This build works well for sneaking around in maps with lots of corners, like Karachi or Invasion. Whenever I get close to entering a building which I know has enemies in it, I switch to the M1014.
Medium Range (SC)
ACR w/ Red Dot Sight, M1014 w/ Grip
Sleight of Hand Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Steady Aim Pro
This is just the softcore equivalent of the above class. I like Sleight of Hand since it takes more shots to kill enemies, thus I reload more often. Stopping Power makes up for the lower damage that guns deal in softcore. I'm considering switching out Sleight of Hand for Bling, though, and adding Extended Mags to the M1014.
Long Range (HC)
ACR w/ ACOG Scope, M1014 w/ Grip
Sleight of Hand Pro, Cold-Blooded Pro, Steady Aim Pro
I don't like using sniper rifles, even with an ACOG scope on them, because my single-fire accuracy is pretty low and I can't lead targets very well. My answer is to stick with my trusty ACR and just use an ACOG on it. Since I tend to spray with it at long range, though, I need Sleight of Hand. At close range I hipfire, and Steady Aim helps with that. This build is mainly for wide open maps like Afghan and Derail.
Long Range (SC)
M16A4 w/ ACOG Scope, M1014 w/ Grip
Sleight of Hand Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Steady Aim Pro
This is the only time I deviate from using the ACR, because it simply isn't accurate enough at long ranges in softcore to kill enemies with any efficiency. I find that the burst fire of the M16A4 does a better job of downing an enemy, provided I use Stopping Power. It doesn't benefit much from Steady Aim at closer range, but there really isn't any other better perk to use.
All of my classes use Semtex and Flash Bang grenades. My softcore death streak is Martyrdom and my hardcore death streak is Final Stand. I find that these builds work equally well is any game mode, so I only change them depending on whether I'm playing softcore or hardcore and what map I'm on.
