I finished the SP campaign yesterday. I loved it. (haven't played MW1, btw)

I joined a friend tonight and played some TDM online, and was sorely disappointed in the game balance.

Since I stuck around long enough to get to level 4, it seems that I can play Domination now, which is more like a CTF/control point strategy game, so maybe that will be better.

I haven't read the thread, but these kill streak bonuses seem a little gay as far as balance is concerned. If somebody is dominating, I'm not sure it's in the game's best interests to grant him the ability to run aerial attacks and drop a nuke to end the match. But maybe that's just me.

I'll probably try Domination tomorrow, just to give it a day in court.

I played Domination for a bit today and it's a lot more enjoyable.

You really have to do some leveling up before the MP is any fun at all.

The first few levels don't take long. You can't go wrong with the M4A1, it's a decent rifle even at level 70.

Got Intervention Master I, need 30 headshots for fall camo... and about 700 more kills with it to get intervention veteran III. The sniper class is

intervention fmj
m9 silenced
slight of hand pro
stopping power pro
commando pro

and it rapes.... in the right hands....

Finally got the Heads Up challenge too. Why are emergency airdrops shitty 4/5 times? the worst one was 3 ammo crates and a uav. seriously wtf.... another one was 2 uav's and 2 counter uav's. There was one good set tonight that had an attack helicopter and a chopper gunner, so I get those two, call in the helicopter, and then for the rest of the match it said the airspace was full for the chopper gunner. I sat there so long trying to call it in (on scrapyard no less) that I got the survivalist challenge.... and then the match ended.
The very next game we were down a shitload in ground war tdm and someone got a chopper gunner in a care package on our team so i stole it, then got 20 something kills with it, and we won by two kills.... epic

Anybody know of a "LEGIT" way to remove the ping bars and get values instead? I know you can hack it in with edited shit but sod that, its not worth me risking my account for...

So far all I've done is change it to 10 bars instead of 4, but even thats a bit naff...

I think I'm up to lvl 13 now, playing with the SCAR w/ grenade launcher. I have to say I'm enjoying Domination.

I still don't care for the nuke though. It just doesn't fit in a strategy gametype. It attracts people who worry more about kill streaks than defending the objectives. I don't have any problem with people sniping/camping/whatever and picking off tons of guys as they leave their spawn areas. That's a part of the game. But giving them a nuke for it is a little overboard. It doesn't happen very often, but I had a kid join up last night and got nuked twice in a row - the second time in like 3 or 4 minutes after the game started.
He only killed me twice, so how was I supposed to know he was racking up a streak? What's the counter?

Every camping spot has multiple ways to approach, and snipers can't look in 2 places at once. Also, a thrown grenade does wonders to flush out campers.

I agree. I don't mind hunting for snipers. But if he only killed me twice, why would I bother? How would I know he was approaching a 25-kill streak?

I don't even know that he was camping & sniping. All I know is that I barely ran into the guy at all, but he ended the game before I knew what was going on. And the game score was still relatively close too.

btw, how's your brawler coming in Borderlands? :)

Yeah but to get a nuke you have to get a 25 killstreak, and 99% of the time thats just not going to happen...

Its bloody awesome in team rounds though, instant win lol.

Yea, in TDM it would be great. Killing the most people is the point of the gametype, so giving people another incentive to do that ties right in.

The only way I get high killstreak rewards is playing with 5 other people on my friends list, since they won't all rush forward and leave the support sniper in the dust then people spawn behind you. but the highest i've ever gone for was the ac130 and got it a few times
normally it's just predator, harrier, emer. drop

If I'm going to play him, it's going to have to be in MP, because alone I get swarmed. He's still at 8, but now my Hunter is 19. =)
