func_group Selection Problems

Post by Pat Howard »

Sorry if this has been answered a million times before but I can't find it on here.

(I'm using Radiant 1.4.0)

I'm having problems selecting entire func_groups. I've been using ALT+SHIFT+CLICK, the purpose of which seems to be to cycle through all the brushes in the camera view behind that click, whether they are blocked from view by other brushes or not. The advantage of this is when I get to a func_grouped brush, it selects the whole group. The disadvantage is it often takes a couple of clicks before I get to the group's place in the cycle. I wish the cycle would simply start with the closest brush to the camera and move outward, but it doesn't.

Anyone have a better way? You'd save me millions of needless clicks in the future!

I think ctrl / shift / click selects all brushes in the group that the brush you click on is part of.

Not entirely positive though.

IIRC that was a European keyboard only thingy, Alt Gr is the right alt key (the key to the *right* of the space key). And this key should do the same as Ctrl+Alt.

Yea sorry, heh, I actually have a what I though was a native US keyboard at home, but it must be some kind of special case.

But yes, should work as CTRL-ALT.

Sadly if you open up a map in GTK1.5.0 that's been built in GTK1.2.1, the func_group key is still designated to all brushes you grouped inside 1.2.1, but you can't select the whole group by selecting one of the respective brushes anymore. Does anyone have a solution for that? It kinda freaks me out that I have to regroup everything once I load my 1.2.1-maps in 1.5.0.

CRTL+ALT+E indeed. Sorry for that question probably I'm having a shortcut overload lately. Thanks obsidian!
