It sets a really bad precedent for future PC titles, especially ports. PC users always were a minority and clued up PC users even less so. Dedicated servers are absolutely essential to a good multiplayer PC game, especially one with lots of players connected.

For comparision, L4D1 has a default rate setting of 30kbps, which each client uses. Now I don't know about those outside the UK, but I have one of best cable connections available, but my max upload is still 60kbps. That means I can host 2 clients before shit gets nasty. L4D1 is an 8 player game. MW2 is 18. Go figure.

Oh well, i'm sure the single player game will be fun. Because of all the bullshit they've done to the PC version, I won't be buying it though. I'll probably download it, but I also know this doesn't help the situation and IW will probably use it as an excuse to just fuck PC gamers off completely when they see huge piracy numbers for their game in the coming months. Either way, its a lose/lose situation for PC gamers.

So I guess there's a mission involving an airport terminal, which is drawing some controversy. But allegedly you can opt to skip this mission if you're sensitive to the graphic material and situation.

Mmmk...

I wonder if people are angelic in GTA4 around the airports.

One of the MP missions has you assassinating someone at the airport.

It's so people won't post their shitty pings to the shitty servers. :olo:

I bet there will be some kind of command you can type in to see it.

Have Wednesday off for Veteran's day and am taking a vacation day tomorrow since I haven't used any yet this year so I'll have a couple days to play. Debating on whether I should go to wal mart at midnight to get a copy or just wait until morning. I think I'll wait - I can't stay up that late anyhow, but for the people watching entertainment, you can't beat a midnight crowd at a video game release. Greasy folk.

I wouldn't doubt it.

Next they're gonna turn off the ranking system for PC. Why let anyone advance and somehow change their gaming experience? :olo:

Hmm. I was hoping for a little more enthousiasm for the SP campaing :(

edit:
The GT review says it's about the same length as CoD4 so I'm not complaining (even though they say they find that too short)

Yeah, fair enough, at least when it comes to grading video games.
Reviewers tend to give good games 9+ grades, regardless whether they add something new to what we already have (which, frankly, I doubt in this case).

Also most reviews on multiplatform-games tend to only look at the console version, for some reason.
The vid I linked to calls itself "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC Games Review - Video Review".
And then you see "press X to remove", "press A to leap over" etc. :smirk:
Some lowest common denominator thing, I dunno.

May be trivial in some cases, but in this case I understand the PC version got crippled a bit, so I'd like to see some more specific criticism on that in a review.

OK, /rant

And TBH, I'm still looking forward to playing this, because COD always delivers.

Me too, after watching the video the MP looks great. It’s just a shame the SP is limited.

Guess I’ve been spoilt by PS3 games with a large limit on the BR disk.

This is fucking good - I went down to Asda with my mate last night. Spoke to the woman and she said of the 500 copies they had in ,half had been pre-ordered. Soooo I went down at 11:20 and ended up being person 86 in the queue. As last count they had 230 people in the queue just before mid night.

Dom - fancy some later? :)
