Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl (fer cheap!)

Post by Foo »

From rockpapershotgun.com:

"STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl is a title that instantly flickers into the forebrain of both myself and Jim whenever the question of the last few years’ best/most important PC games is raised. It is not a perfect game, but it realises a world, a place, an atmosphere, a dream of what games can and should be that pretty much nothing else even tries to come close to. And it’s £3.50 on Steam"

If you've never played it, it's worth the experience. Can't knock it for $3.75

I second this. I played through it for the first time a month or two ago with this mod installed and the graphics were really impressive. Just make sure you abuse that quicksave feature because it's really easy to die.

The mod has been updated just recently.

And yeah, especially at first.

Stalker with the Complete mod utterly kicks Fallout 3 in the nuts.

Oh yeah, I like Clear Sky as well. Also waiting for Call of Pripyat. From what I've read from people that have played it, they took the best features from both games and combined them. Some say it's better than both. Release for UK and US is 1st quarter 2010. :(

Made the game a good bit harder and balanced some things out. Definitely for the better. The graphics improvements were nice too, not a priority for me though.
