Looking for a specific ambient sound.

Post by Hipshot »

It's really hard to explain, but here goes:

It's like whistling inside a pipe - looking through the barrel of a gun - you get a vertical feeling of it, like standing on a cliff edge looking down.

It's played in some Quake Live levels, at totally random, like the church voices in Temple of Pain. However, I can't find a level playing it now...

This might be a Team Arena sound, cause I don't think they created this ambient sound specifically for some Quake Live levels...

I'm really not sure but: maybe pak0.pk3\sound\world\xchoir2.wav?
If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron.

Try these - maybe one of them is what you are looking for:

in this Quake 3 file "\baseq3\pak0.pk3"

sound\world\demonwind.wav
sound\world\evil.wav
sound\world\growl1.wav
sound\world\suck1.wav
sound\world\wind1.wav
sound\world\wind2.wav

In this Team Arena file "\missionpack\PAK0.PK3"

sound\ambient\loop_wind_01.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_03.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_04.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_05.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_06.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_07.wav
sound\ambient\loop_wind_09.wav

Those are pretty much all of the stock wind files.

You could always blow on an empty bottle and record your own. :owned:
