Smoothing effect on right angled brushes in Wolf 2

Post by dONKEY »

Quite aside from the criticism Wolf 2 seems to be getting for its MP, I must say I really like the SP game. The interior maps are especially good. I noticed that corner brushes have a smoothing effect, kind of like phong shading. This helps get around idtech4's harsh lighting of brushwork and avoids the requirement to use bevels on every sharp angle. Do any of you guys know what's going on here. I don't know if we will ever get to level design for Wolf 2 SP, but I would just like to know how Raven achieved this.
