PC game with decent hair?

Post by o'dium »

Name one. Please dear GOD.

I have shit loads of console games with cool hair on models, even fighting games, where the hair and clothes look fantastic...

So why hasn't this carried over onto PC games yet?

Even games with the latest in physics engines (HL2 etc) still insist on "tieing hair up" or having it short...

Can anybody name one game that has good hair on the pc?

If you would all stop being such rabbid cock sucking homos, you might understand i have a point.

Name one game on the pc, that has nice looking hair? Is that so hard for some of you retards to grasp without having to start a "my penis is bigger than yours" war?

Seriously, tis a fucking inter-topic on an inter-forum on the inter-web, do you really give a shit? Go and and get laid you inbreds.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Because they use 256 MB of hair textures? Is that what you're saying?

Nah, they could do something with hair to make it more "real"

remember Lara Crofts ponytail? it was "realistic" the way it moved.. i dotn think odium is going so far as saying that he wants the 10,000,000 strands of hair.. just for it to LOOK good and maybe move around a bit "realisticly"..

Could it be that it's a massive waste of processing power better spent on other functions?

Which may explain why it's used in simpler games such as beat em ups, which you don't see on the PC much any more?

I said "fighting games" as an example.

In RE4, Leons hair looks and moves fantasticly. Even when you aim around the screen, your hair moves about to match the way you moved. Amazing.

It DOES need more polies to look good, because of subdivisions. The more polies, the more you can split it up. But thats nothing overkill.

SOAPboy is correct, i dont want every hair modeled thats retarded, i just wouldn't mind seeing hair move and look better.

Remember talking/thinking about McNeils hair, waht it would be like in ROE? Oh, wow, what a surprise, she has it tied up in a bun.

Tied up or short hair requires no animations and less polies, but it looks stupid. IMHO.

BTW, Leon:

That model is by no means complex, or crazy on polies, until you get to the head. The only reason it gets poly heavy there, is, again, because you NEED polies for things to move nice. Take doom 3's mouths, for example. I'm sure it would look great in doom 3, its just there are hardly any polies on the face, so things look bad,

RE4 is one of the best games to come out in years. You cant seriously be moaning about the camera angle, after the 10 years we have spent with static cameras, can you? Or are you just picking up shit just because you like to be a cunt? :icon22:

MUUUUHRRR.

MAYBE I'M PICKING IT OUT BECAUSE RESTRICTED DYNAMICS/SCALE ALLOW FOR IMPROVED GRAPHICS. JUST LIKE IN BEAT EM UPS.

Re4 may not have a lot of shadows and stuff going on, but you must be crazy if you think it doesn't do its fare share of working things out...

Basically, o'dium is a nitpicking cunt who cares more about how a game's hair engine works than if its actually good in gameplay terms.
