Euphoria Character Animation Physics

Post by obsidian »

I wonder if any of you guys have seen this or have any more information on it. It looks like an interesting way in which characters will interact and move naturally, perhaps in large crowd environments, assuming this system isn't a complete pig on system resources.

I remember seeing that a couple years ago being demonstrated by LucasArts. It was cool to see the AI's self-preservation at work.

Apparently GTA 4 was the first game to hit shelves that used Euphoria.

Yeah it was all the buzz in the press with GTA4 (the physics) because of the really cool drunk walk the main character does due to the physics engine. Plus I hear it also affected how the pedestrians rolled/bounced off the car bonnet! :P

i made a thread about it way back when.

its extremely cool, and indeed in games as GTA you can really see how it shines.
pedestrians falling off bridges trying to grabs ledges n stuff.
it's also in Star Wars Force Unleashed.
