I really hope that this is not going to be a new tred developing as £55 for a game is just stupid. Back in the old daysof Nintendo/Sega cartridges they used to be that much (which I guess is a lot more given inflation) but I never, ever bought a game costing that much. Sadly, I loved CoD MW that much I will probably end up getting this one as well, but it makes me angry

Have you seen what they have done? Activision have pushed the RRP to £54.99 ($90)

Clearly it's worth $90 to you then. Personally, I'd wait for it to drop in price.

You can get it for £45, but the principle of it being £55 is silly

They've as much as admitted it's an experiment to see if people will pay it. If they do, then you can expect others to follow suit.
In the current climate, one or two releases may get away with it, but in the long term, this'll drive up piracy and the second-hand game trade.

Trouble is, of course people will pay it... its MW2. It could be £80 and people would still pay it...
But a lot of stores are dropping the price down to £45... Even then its a bit too much. I don't agree on anything over £40 myself... Shame really.

It is coming out at Christmas time so prepare to see some drastic price cuts a-la Prince of Persia last year.
I think £25 bargin of the day somewhere is not unthinkable

Wow, that's insanely high priced. I usually won't pay over $55 Canadian for a game.

Look people it's very simple: they will price the product at whatever they want and you will pay it.
