HR 27 -- "Job Improvement Act"

Post by bitWISE »

Well I got a real letter back from my senator this time and although he gave me some bad news he also gave me a little bit of good news.

First off, the bill has already passed the House in the form that would allow for federally funded organizations to descriminate based on religion. The amendment that was supposed to correct that problem was not passed.

But, the Senate has yet to make a decision and this must be done before the President can put the bill into effect. He claimed that he was going to use [ACLU's] arguments during the debate to defend the opinion of the people he represents.

So I guess we will just see...

Not only is it bs but its very loosely worded.

I thought it was so that religious orgs could get funding for doing good for people, but could not use the federal funds to discrinate. I have not read the bill, so I honestly have a very very small clue of WTF is going on
